OUR LOCATION
La Marmotte is a cozy, typically Swiss chalet in the heights of Morcles. The hamlet of Morcles is 7km away from Lavey-les-Bains. It takes about 15 minutes to climb.

La Marmotte is at an altitude of 1200 metres and is surrounded by mountains, forests and fields. It is the ideal starting point for beautiful hikes that will allow you to meet chamois, deer, foxes and badgers. Summer or winter, you will feel like you're in paradise and will be awakened by the chirping of birds. All the rooms and the independent chalet have views of the valley, the Trient glacier and the Eastern Peak.

Dog owners, your companion will be in an idyllic environment with no cars or barriers to hinder their freedom!
ABOUT US
Christine and Philippe will be happy to welcome you and make your stay a pleasant one.
​
Christine will prepare delicious meals and hearty breakfasts in the carnozet or in your apartment where a good fire will crackle in winter. In summer, you can eat on the terrace facing the Trient Glacier and the Eastern Peak. Philippe will give you the opportunity to try his delicious home-dried meat (beef, bacon or game) and will guide you in the choice of wines.

Their dog, Meijin, will welcome you peacefully, but with joy! She will be happy to share some games with any sociable four-legged friends you bring along.
OUR ROOMS
The owners live on the first floor. The rooms at your disposal are on the second and third floors in an independent apartment accessible by an internal staircase.
​
There are two twin rooms (with the possibility of converting into a double) and a double room, each decorated with care. Like the common areas (living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom), the bedrooms feature our friends the marmots!
​
In the twin rooms, it is possible to add - for a small supplement - an extra matress for a third person. A cot (up to 4 years old) and a high-chair are also available.

INDEPENDENT CHALET
​
About 200 metres from La Marmotte is Les Marmottons. It is a small chalet comprised of a twin bedroom (plus cot for a child of up to 4 years old), a living room with a sofa bed and a bathroom with shower.
​
A wood stove provides warmth (wood available), and the stove, lights and heating are gas powered... though candles are available if you would prefer to enjoy an evening by candlelight.
​
Access to the chalet is via a footpath and your luggage can be carried by motorised wheelbarrow.
​
Don't want to cook? No problem! Go down to La Marmotte to enjoy a good meal or simply to have a drink whilst taking in the view and the calm surroundings.

Thermal baths
7 km away are the thermal baths of Lavey-les-Bains, surrounded by greenery and boasting the hottest spa water in Switzerland.
15 minutes by car
Hiking
From the chalet, there are walks suited to all hikers from beginners to the more experienced: Plan-du-Pré, Au d´Arbignon, Javerne cross, La Tourche hut, Dents-de-Morcles tower. The owners are happy to offer advice on routes suitable for you.
Winter sports
Starting from the chalet, you can try seal skin skiing, snowshoeing, sledging ... in the silence of nature.
